OUR MISSION STATEMENT

The Strategic Action Council (SAC) of Northwest Louisiana is a broad-based regional, business, and civic organization created to enhance the capacity of the region so that it can compete in today’s global, technology-driven economy. SAC is dedicated to improving economic and enterprise development, education, and healthcare throughout the region. The Strategic Action Council’s mission is “To make our region healthy, wealthy, and wise.” Through the diversity of its organizational membership, as well as through the engagement of its four committees: Community Development, Regional Healthcare, Education, and Regional Economic Development, the Strategic Action Council strives to make Northwest Louisiana an even better place to live.

NORTHWEST LOUISIANA COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT FUND I

Using innovative methods that have created billions in Double Bottom Line funds in a strategy that has worked from coast to coast, the Northwest Louisiana Community Development Fund I (The Fund) was created to invest in real estate in those low and moderate income urban and rural areas of the ten parish region of Northwest Louisiana that have under-appreciated resources, and thus represent the unrealized investment opportunities for the community and the region. These areas represent emerging markets with the potential to contribute to the growth and vitality of the Northwest region of our state.

Through its creative community partnerships on the national and local level, the Strategic Action Council will accomplish the following:

  • To provide the firms, families, and communities of the ten parishes of Northwest Louisiana with world class skills and resources to compete in today’s global technological economy; and
  • To ensure that the benefits of a world class regional economy and culture are available to all citizens- rural and urban, poor and rich, black and white- across the ten parish region served by the Fund and its Fund Sponsor.

The Fund is part of a rapidly growing $12- 15 billion Double Bottom Line Industry that has consistently produced superior risk-adjusted market rates of return for its large cadre of repeat institutional investors- major national commercial banks, university endowments, and foundations among them- and that has also produced measurable jobs, wealth creation, and community revitalization for residents of the low and moderate-income areas in which the mixed-income, mixed-use housing, commercial, and industrial projects are built in partnership with community stakeholders.
